About Us

The Official Website of Wakefield Jets JFC

Established in 2002 and The Club of choice for Junior Football in the Outwood  & North Wakefield area

We are an England Football Accredited Club, affiliated to the West Riding County FA and competing in the Garforth Junior Football League, as well as appropriate County Cup competitions.

The primary function of the club is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for children from the local area to learn and play football. Children are encouraged to be actively involved in training sessions and to contribute as much as possible to club activities.

It is recognised that children benefit from increased social skills and healthy exercise as well as developing controlled competitiveness via participation in team activities and involvement in organized junior football Leagues.  Wakefield Jets embrace this thinking and have adopted it into our constitution.

All of our coaches are qualified by the FA to deliver appropriate training to youngsters and all our volunteers must pass a Criminal Records Check (CRC) before they are permitted to interact with children. Qualified coaches also have to attend Safeguarding and First Aid courses, renewing their education on these issues every 3 years at least.

All players, officials, coaches and managers are governed by strict Codes of Conduct.

Since launching the club we have seen steady (and more recently, unprecedented) growth and it is envisaged that the club shall continue to grow in line with expectations. We currently represent and cater for well over 180 local children. It is intended that over the next 5 years Wakefield Jets will continue to become further established as the club of choice in the district for children to play football.

We have developed and will review a five-year plan which will ensure that Wakefield Jets remains a successful football club which caters to the expectations of its stakeholders. The club is run by a management committee which includes coaches, managers and parent representatives from each age group. The committee meet on a regular basis at a pre-agreed venue. All parents and stakeholders of the club are encouraged to attend the meetings if they feel that they have a positive contribution. Parents can obtain dates and times of the meetings from their respective age group Manager.
